This yearly list ranks the fastest-growing private companies in the country, putting the spotlight on tremendously successful businesses all across the United States. This year’s inclusion marks the third time Guardian Services has made this prestigious list, putting us up with some pretty exclusive company; only 20% of all businesses ever ranked receive this honor three or more times.
About the Inc. 5000 List
Published every year by Inc. Magazine, the Inc. 5000 list provides an interesting vantage point of the top private companies within dynamic industries. First published in 1982, this list has become a major indication of entrepreneurial success. Many of the small businesses included on this list have gone on to become major players in their fields and have enjoyed incredible success in the years that follow. In the past, the list has included now-household names such as Intuit, Zappos, Under Armour, Microsoft, Jamba Juice, Timberland, Pandora, Patagonia, and Oracle, among many others. Some businesses gain their first major national exposure by being listed as an Inc. 5000 honoree.
“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have followed so many different paths to success,” said Inc. editor in chief James Ledbetter. “There’s no single course you can follow or investment you can take that will guarantee this kind of spectacular growth. But what they have in common is persistence and seizing opportunities.”
The companies which made the 2018 Inc. 5000 list have proven themselves to be highly-competitive in their respective markets. The entire list exemplified some staggering growth, with a median rate of 157% and the average honoree showing 454% of yearly growth. The aggregate revenue from all honorees was reported at $237.7 billion, and approximated more than 1.2 million positions over the last three years.
Those selected to this list will be honored at the annual Inc. 5000 gala, which will be held from October 10th through 12th, 2019 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. Speakers at this event will include some of the greatest business leaders, innovators, and thinkers of our generation.

Methodology of the Inc. 5000 List
The 2019 Inc. 5000 list is ranked based on percentage revenue growth over the previous three years (from 2015 to 2018). To qualify, companies must have adhered to the following criteria:
- Must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31st, 2015
- Must be U.S.- based, privately-held, for-profit, and independent as of December 31st, 2018 (Subsidiaries or divisions of other companies are not eligible, but some companies on the report have either been acquired or gone public since that date.)
- Must have earned at least $100,000 in revenue for 2015 and at least $2 million in revenue for 2018
Companies who met this criteria were then ranked based on percentage of revenue growth over the three-year period of 2015 through 2018, with the top 5,000 companies being named to the list.
