UV Lighting & Fogging
Your HVAC system’s job is to circulate the air in your home, which means that it also circulates airborne bacteria and viruses. Naturally, the largest build-up can be located on the indoor coils of your system. It is dark and wet, and water is condensing on the coil all throughout the cooling season, creating a perfect world for microbes to grow. If biological growth starts on your coils, the blower fan can blow them directly into every room of your house.
Stop that process right where it starts: at the coil. Ultra violet light disrupts the DNA germs, which ultimately kills their ability to multiply. UV light systems target the coils in your unit to prevent the build-up of bacteria, fungi and other pollutants such as dust, pollen and smoke. When adding a UV light device to your HVAC system, you’re actively helping the system keep itself clean, which is why UV installations are surprisingly cost effective. Your UV light can restore performance levels to your HVAC system and reduce energy consumption by 35% all while helping you breath cleaner, more comfortable air.
Benefits of in Duct UV Lighting
- Dual ionizers to reduce airborne particulates (dust, dander, pollen, mold spores)
- Kills up to 99% of bacteria, mold and viruses
- Reduces sneeze germs by 99% in the time a sneeze can reach three feet
- New zinc ions kill 99% of viruses on surfaces
- Unlike portable units that are limited to the room in which they are placed, provides whole home and building purification
Anti-Microbial Duct Fogging
We take the same steps when cleaning your duct lines of ensuring an anti-microbial fog is applied to the interior of the ductwork to kill any germs or bacteria that would be present. Once the ductwork is vigorously cleaned, the fogging is then applied and acts as a protective layer against any further growth inside your ductwork.
Fogging solutions kill mold spores, stopping them from spreading and reducing or eliminating musty odors. Applying an anti-microbial to your HVAC system such as fogs or mists is a method used routinely in several industries. The purpose is to disperse a disinfectant aerosol to reduce the numbers of airborne micro-organisms and also to apply disinfectant to surfaces that may be difficult to reach (like the middle of your duct work). At Guardian Services, fogging is achieved using a mobile unit, placed at the entrance to the ducting and fed down the length of the flex duct. The goal is reducing the number of contaminates in your duct work to help people that suffer from asthma, allergies and other respiratory problems in breathing cleaner, more comfortable air.
