Sergio Sotelo is a Technical Supervisor at Guardian Services with more than 11 years of dedicated service in operations for kitchen exhaust and commercial HVAC system cleaning. Originally from Mexico, Sergio first worked with Guardian in the 1980s before spending nearly three decades at Bimbo Bakeries corporate headquarters, where he advanced through roles in distribution, sanitation, shipping & receiving, and eventually into foreman and management positions. After retiring, Sergio returned to Guardian because he valued the company’s environment, the hands-on field work, and the opportunity to be on different job sites each day. Bilingual in Spanish and English, Sergio holds sanitation certifications and specialized credentials including lockout/tagout, OSHA, forklift, and scissor lift operation. He takes pride in working directly with technicians in the field to train them on proper cleaning processes and ensure work is completed to the highest standards. Over his tenure, Sergio has grown from technician to supervisor, sharpening his communication skills and becoming a respected mentor—especially to new team members who rely on his knowledge and leadership to onboard successfully. He is known for his calm, natural leadership style and his commitment to consistency, safety, and ethical work practices whether or not anyone is watching. One of Sergio’s proudest career accomplishments was leading a three-month high-stakes project at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, which his team completed ahead of schedule with outstanding customer satisfaction. Motivated by his family and grounded in the principles of safety, professionalism, and integrity, Sergio actively contributes to Guardian’s culture of respect, accountability, and excellence. Outside of work, Sergio enjoys spending quality time with his family and has a long history as a soccer player, having played for over 25 years. Looking ahead, his personal goal is to help his son start an HVAC business and to continue passing forward the knowledge he has gained throughout his career.
